This package includes the Eclipse IDE for windows, the DITA-OP plugins (and their dependencies), the CVS plugin and Subclipse, the SVN team plugin.
Work is still needed on this package to remove things that are not becessary to a typical technical writer but it is a good start if you do not use Eclipse already and want to evaluate the editor.
Also, it is only available for windows and if demand is high enough for other platforms we will build other packages. In the mean time, if you are using another platform please download the Eclipse IDE for your platform and use one the other download methods.
To download the sources use the SVN source repository. The repository URL is https://svn.dita-op.org/svnroot/dita-op/ and is anonymously accessible.
You can refer to this sourceforge page for detailed information about SVN: Subversion - Version Control for Source Code.
Hi,
Newbie question, sorry ;-)
I’m currently trying out the IBM Task Modeler 6 to graphically build DITAmaps. The “About” menu says: Eclipse SDK 3.2.1
Can I still download your doped-1.0.0.M2-20081218 file and run your Editor at the same time or should I first uninstall my Eclipse environment to avoid any conflict?
Thanks!
Hi,
The DITA-OP Editor is compatible with Eclipse 3.3 and above while the Task Modeler is only compatible with 3.2.
You will have to install two versions of Eclipse and switch between them.
This until I release M3 which will include a better DITA maps editor.
Hi,
I’m just downloading everything to check out your solution. It certainly sounds promising.
We are mostly interested in the project management and version control aspects, as well as the continuous building. Could we use this setup with other DITA editors; or is everything tied closely to Eclipse usage?
Thanks…
You can use any editor that can connect to a WebDAV repository to access the files in Subversion but for continuous building you will have to tailor an Ant build file and use the Bitten Ant command in your build recipe instead of the DITA-OP command.
